Scrimshawed whale tooth

Antique scrimshawed whale tooth with inscription "Neptune's Court at the Equator".

4.5" standing scrimshaw whale tooth.  2" wide at base. ANTIQUE. On the front of the whale tooth, a view of a whaling ship.  On the underside, an etching of a scene inscibed "Neptune's Court at the Equator" with Neptune holding his trident and addressing sailors.  Compass etching on both sides of tooth, with a checked border on top and bottom of tooth.  Purchased by donor from collection in New Jersey.
