6" long scrimshawed whale tooth. ANTIQUE. Front of tooth shows the ship "Constellation" with the inscription below "First Commissioned Ship of the U.S. Navy". Underside of tooth shows a flag with a center scene of sailors unfurling sails. Tooth very old and badly fractured. Obtained by donor from a collection in New England. Artist unknown.
