Scrimshawed whale tooth

Antique scrimshawed whale tooth with whaling ships and American eagle.

5.75" scrimshaw whale tooth.  ANTIQUE.  On front side, the scene of two warships inside of a decorative border: one ship being blown up, with an inscription near the bottom reading "The Constitution Sinks the Java".  On the underside of the tooth, a large American Eagle and the words "E. Pluribus Unum".  Tooth is fractured and yellowed with age.  Purchased by donor in Massachusetts.  Artist unknown.
