Pōhaku (stone)

Summary:
Oblong stone. Pōhaku was used for different purposes including: food preparation, sport, a part of fishing apparatus, general tool for carving, sanding, sharpening, filing, as part of religious purposes, use for daily life work and weapons.
Description:

Hawaiian Phallic Emblem. Length: 14 1/4 inches, Circumference: 15 1/4 inches, Color: Sandy Brown, Surface: Porous stone except for a ring that circles the stone, horizontally, a little towards one end and appears to be composed of some type of cement. The cement, obviously, is not a Hawaiian antiquity. It probably results from a later use of the stone. Workship of the Phallus was prevalent among early Hawaiians. It is important to note that it is not certain that this stone is indeed a phallic symbol but it does more closely resemble this than anything else.
