Pōhaku (stone)

Pōhaku was used for different purposes including; sport, a part of fishing apparatus, general tool for carving, sanding, sharpening, polishing, filing, as part of religious purposes, use for daily life work and weapons.
Description: 

Hawaiian Stone Weapon. Length: 2 7/8 inches, Width: 2 1/2 inches, Thickness (at widest point): 1 1/4 inches, Shape: Relatively square shaped, rounded, thicker and narrower at one end, thinner, wider, squarer at the other, Color: Slate Grey, Weight: 11.2 lb. This stone appears to have a grooves worn in it that would accomodate the fingers if the stone were held in a closed fist. Doing so would give the first greater solidity and striking force.
