Scrimshawed whale tooth

4.25' standing scrimshawed whale tooth, 2.5" wide at the base.  Front side shows etching of standing Chinese sailor with hat and pig-tail; he is holding a large rope, and there is the name "Jack Tar" in a banner below him.  Back of tooth shows motif of large rope in a knot.  Artist's signature of albatross and the number 162 located in bottom corner.  Purchased by donor in Maui.  Artist: Bill Sellers.
