Description: 

3.75" standing scrimshawed whale tooth.  Etching depicts a close up of a ship's deck, sails, and stores of whale oil in barrels.  There is a lantern in the lower left corner surrounded by a border.  Fine detail, with a sawtooth design encircling the pictures.  Inscription reads "73 Ray Peters" plus the number 83, suggesting that the piece was made in 1973, and was the 83rd piece by the artist.  Purchased by donor in Hawai'i.  Artist: Ray Peters.
