Kapa Cloth Stamp. Length: 16 1/8 inches, Color: Brown, Appearance: Item looks like a drum stick or a music baton. Item was used to create patterns on kapa cloth by dipping one of the ends in dye and applying it to the cloth.

Cultural Narrative: 

Lapa was used for decorating kapa, a clothlike material made from beating the damp bark of the Wauke (paper mulberry) with an iʻe kuku (kapa beater).  The lapa was primarily made with bamboo but could be made with any hardwood.
